Best Junior Handler In Show

First of all I would like to give my sincere thanks to the committee of The Pharaoh Hound Club for inviting me to judge your Golden Jubilee Championship Show 2018. It was with great pleasure I accepted this invitation to give my first CC’s in UK to the breed. I had judged Pharaoh Hounds twice before in UK, first an Open Show at 2004 in Baginton and then 2014 in Bath Championship Show (without CC’s).
The overall quality of the breed was excellent. I was happy to see that all had excellent lovely temperaments and enough substance. Most of the dogs had excellent correctly carried big ears, lovely necks and enough depth of body. Some of the dogs had problems with short and straight upper arms, like everywhere nowadays. I also could see that some of the dogs had quite small eyes and some weak under jaws. Some of the dogs had too weak pasterns and some too straight pasterns and quite many tail missed white tip. I would have loved to see better muscle condition in quite many dogs, and because of that they couldn’t move so well when going around. Up and down movements were really good.
Thank you to all exhibitors who showed their dogs to me and took my placements with good sportsmanship.
Thank you also to my excellent steward, Mrs Jacqui Whitworth, who kept my papers in good order. Thank you goes also to Mr & Mrs Billington, who were my drivers.
And a huge thank you to the Club for the wonderful gifts I got.
It was also very lovely to meet your Clubs patron, Miss Marjory Williams, and have a lunch with her, where we could have a chat and remember ”the old days”.
